[Anime] Most VIP Quality Anime Music Ranking [Music] (17)

1 Name: VIPPER : 2008-09-04 21:23 [Del]

A while ago 2ch ranked the top 100 anime OP and EDs so I thought we could make an official SAOVQ top VIP QUALITY anime OP and ED list. List your top 3 most favorite/VIP QUALITY anime OP and EDs in order from most liked to least liked.

Every time a song is ranked first it will receive 3 points, second 2 points and third 1 point. At some point in the future the total scores will be tallied and we will create a list of the most VIP QUALITY anime OPs and EDs.

Please only choose anime OP and EDs; no songs from anywhere else in the series.

  3. Sexy Commando Sugoiyo Masaru-san - Romance

This rigged process disqualifies some of the otherwise most eligible music ever, the entirety of the duel songs from Utena.

No IN songs? (`DL) These are songs, unlike OPs and EDs, MEANT to be played when something badass happens.

That said, I remember that thread.

Even if nobody cares about what we said in >>3-4, here's my vote. I have provided youtubes so that you may witness first-hand their badassness.
  1. Virtual Star Hasseigaku, ED version, from Shoujo Kakumei Utena. This is more a personal favorite than an obviously awesome song, but I vote it first because of what I said in >>3, there's almost one new original song just as awesome/ridiculous in every episode. Reading Seazer's lyrics is, well, an interesting experience.
  2. Cautionary Warning, OP from Black Heaven - Kacho Oji. Make sure to watch this one for the awesome rotoscoped animation too, which unfortunately the show looks nothing like.
  3. Red Fraction, OP from the first and second seasons of Black Lagoon. But watching the youtube just won't do justice to the intensity this OP has when watched on a proper AV rig.
I'd have stuck something from Kajiura in there, since her participation is enough to make me watch any show, no matter how shitty. But somehow her op/ed songs are never as good as the insert songs, such as Nowhere from Madlax (a slideshow of pretty pictures with no actual storytelling, like everything from Bee Train).
