A sat at my computer, alone in the dark,
when to my right I did hear a bark.
My dog called to me, to venture outside.
So, I gathered my strength, and so we did ride.
My dog needed peace, to release it's burden,
and so I did bring my dog to the garden.
Out to the dark, and my stomach did rumble.
"Wherewith shall this stomach be humbled?"
I thought to myself as I searched through the house,
"Yoghurts and cheeses!? The foods of a mouse!"
Breads and vegetables would not suffice.
Not even a popsicle fresh from the ice!
I search through the cupboards, past bowl and cup.
I was full of sorrow, luck almost up.
When I spotted in the corner, a bag lying proud.
"Waffles!" I shouted, and shouted aloud!
Now with a waffle in each of my hands.
An axe at my belt, a lumberjack I stand.
An axe at my belt, a lumberjack I stand.
I will tell this to my children, and they to theirs, and so on through the ages, VIPPER.
VIPbump
I will carry on the legacy of this story.
Somehow I thought that it would end up that >>1-san would be Nida and end up eating the dog.
I'm glad I was wrong. And that the real ending is even better. I applaud you.
I really like how the last two lines of the poem are the same.
