Similar interests are important, I think. I do have a girlfriend, and she enjoys many of the same things I do--Japanese Internet memes, Nico Nico Douga, Touhou, j-core and speedcore, etc. It does help to have some VIP QUALITY, and since she has the right background I've started to give her some lessons on VIP. I taught her how to bu-n recently, although she's too shy to do it in public as of now...
As for looks, my only criteria usually are not morbidly obese and "cute" (subjectively speaking) hair.

A good conversationalist, with manners, and grace. I think it is a shame a reserved and modest nature has left modern culture. Someone who is fluent in several languages, artistic , and creative. Looks don't really matter to me. I just want someone I can enjoy spending my time with.

My ideal girlfriend has a case of Argyria. She does not have too much silver exposure, causing her skin to be a totally gray-blueish color, but instead she has only limited exposure (still more than a regular amount) and thus has beautiful skin with a blueish gray tint. This is the only way a girl can be truly beautiful and anyone else who doesn't believe me simply doesn't understand that true beauty comes the synthesis of humanity and silver.
For example, Silver on the periodic table is termed "Ag." You may not have noticed this, but "Argyria" also has "Ag" in it. This is a very special connection. Also Ag is number 47. People love the number 47 naturally due to the alignment of the four and seven (4 and 7 diconomostrophy). Also, the atomic weight is ~107.89. This is a very beautiful number and if I had an Argyria girlfriend I would call her 107.89ey or .89-chan for short.
Silver is cool!
