I just pretty much flunked out of community college. After failing basic College Algebra twice, it's safe to assume all I'm good for is minimum-wage menial work, and I haven't had any responses to my applications even for those jobs. Even if I did, it would be very hard to find affordable housing around here with rent under $600 per month. So if my parents kick me out, I'll be homeless.

Just use your imagination and do something you like doing. I'm a web programmer and not only do I not have a degree in my field (I have an Associate's degree in general art) but I have never once used any math more advanced than linear algebra(if even). All you need in any field to get a job is good experience, and you'll have to take lower pay at first, but after you gain that experience you'll make more than the entry level job that your peers will get after they graduate from 4 years of school (that almost certainly put them in debt).

Being an auto mechanic takes thousands of dollars worth of tools in order to advance beyond doing tires and oil changes.

Also, it doesn't resist recession the way out outsiders think it does. In times of good, people get rid of their absolute wreck to buy a decent used car at the same time people buy new cars. In addition, people hanging on to older cars tend to ignore maintenance, and have tires that are on the verge of catastrophe. That, and anyone with no warranty will avoid repairing their air conditioner, stereo, or other extras until good times return.

My life just seems to be out of control, everything is going to shit. Last semester I passed all my courses by the skin of my teeth and this semester my marks are also horrible. These days I feel like I can never get enough sleep, and I always feel like shit when I wake up in the morning. I can't be bothered to eat- everything seems so bland- every day I starve because i'm too unmotivated to cook food. Meanwhile, other people are out getting an education, getting jobs and getting relationships, while I'm addicted to browsing internet forums which I am not sincerely interested in.
