I'm not really afraid.
- Newcomers making bad posts? We already deal with them every so often, they seem to integrate or leave quickly.
- Trolls? We generally know better and won't give them much attention, or we'll subvert their threads and make them amusing.
- Crapflood? A week of captcha should solve this. Kareha's captcha is pretty rudimentary, but our likely attackers are 4chan, not competent people.
- (ExE)-chan and the moderators all somehow go AWOL and 4chan hacks us? I can set up a wakaba and kareha install on their own domain name in a few hours, I already have some websites on a shared server for which I can buy more bandwidth, and I'm pretty sure at least 3 or 4 more regulars are in the same case : setting up an emergency replacement (temporarily or for a long while) wouldn't be hard, and finding the new URL should be easy: irc, 4-ch, world4ch, etc..
However, if the site goes down, I realize that since robots are not allowed here, we won't be on achive.org. Which makes me think, hey, (ExE)-chan, if you read this, would it be OK if I wrote and ran a simple, well-behaved archiving bot on SAoVQ, SAoVP, and the Oekaki board, about once a month? It would only fetch a couple pages per minute and only download stuff that changed since the last time. It would allow us to have some archives if something horribly wrong were to happen.
