Is it normal to write an email to someone, and then be absolutely terrified of the reply? To the point that I send these emails the last thing before I go to sleep, because I can't take the tension? Because I've been doing it for two months, and it's really unpleasant, all this waking up, and checking the inbox in fear in the morning.

I tried to track down THE NINJA SQUAD. I found this very slow torrent.
But after downloading it (for more than a week), I realized that the uploader wrote down the name of the actors of the wrong movie.
There are TWO movies having "THE NINJA SQUAD" in their name:
- The Ninja Squad (1986), a movie with an awesome trailer, ninjas wearing "NIN | JA" headbands, and Richard Harrison.
- The Super Ninja (1984), released in the UK as "The Ninja Squad: Killers Invisible".
I turned off my brain as soon as I started watching, but from the first 20 minutes I learned that there's this muscular Chinese ninja policeman named John and his black partner whose shoulders are bulkier than his legs. The story happens in the USA because there are a lot of American flags. As John is doing push-ups using a skateboard, he is framed for drug possession by the police chief. Vaguely homoerotic torture ensues, interrupted by flashbacks of BDSM Chinese Ninja training. His Chinese girlfriend named Nancy is molested in front of him. There is a ninja squad, but the ninja action only really happens later. B+, not horrible enough. Will finish watching someday.

The search for the elusive THE NINJA SQUAD continues.

(If anyone's morbid curiosity would be satisfied by my uploading the 340MB RMVB of that other movie to megaupload, just ask)

>>542
I require a triplet of recommendations.

545 Name: VIPPER : 2009-11-19 14:23 [Del]

Aria, Mushishi, Black Lagoon, Utena (tv before the movie), Eden of the East, Planetes, Cromartie High School, Michiko to Hatchin, Lain, Gungrave, Kaiba, Samurai Champloo, Spice and Wolf, Darker than Black, Nanoha & A's, Mononoke (TV series, not the unrelated movie)...
That was not tailored to resemble what you said you liked, it's more a random list of great stuff I'd recommend to any VIPPER.

546 Name: VIPPER : 2009-11-19 15:24 [Del]

>>545
This is almost exactly the list I came up with, I just didn't post because I was concerned about the not tailored to preferences bit.

I should add that Trapeze is currently airing and is full of VIP QUALITY content, and you'll probably be able to tell whether you love it or hate it in a few seconds, which is useful I guess. I found episodes 2 and 5 particularly entertaining.

547 Name: VIPPER : 2009-11-19 18:09 [Del]

>>545
I agree with the majority of your list, but your wording seems to suggest AVOIDING Princess Mononoke.

Besides the huge sites that are big enough to have some rare stuff occasionally, I really like karagarga.net, which is all about pretentious old movies, arthouse stuff, international releases, and forgotten classics. It's quite small, about 24000 users and 70000 torrents, so you are not likely to find someone with an invite (I unfortunately have none), but I heard that they hand them out easily to polite and interested people in their IRC channel (#karagarga on irc.brokensphere.net).
I also heard a lot of good things about cinematik.net and secret-cinema.net.

I don't think that is what he means. If you could have some sort of foreshadowing irl than life would need a narrator, or a writer, as well as a purpose. As you live your life you can't look ahead and make connections to events that haven't happened yet. That would mean you were outside of your own timeline, wouldn't it?

I love my eee 1101HA, but it might be because I snatched it for €150 less than retail price.
Not noisy, stays cool, comfortable keyboard, good multi-touch trackpad (that requires some getting used to, so don't be afraid it's hard to use at first if you get to try one), amazing battery life (at least 6 hours with heavy usage, wifi, bluetooth, Windows 7, and 60% luminosity, ASUS advertises 8 in Win XP with 30% luminosity), switch overclocking & underclocking on/off with a hotkey depending if you want to save battery or get maximum performance, graphics card decent enough for old games, and with accelerated h264 hardware decoding (can play 1080p at a perfect framerate).
The 11,6" display, however, might make it larger than you'd like. And it's reflective, but nowadays you can't buy anything without the stupid shiny unless you pay a huge premium.
Anyway, the eee line in general deserves its good reputation.
