Well, I know the -basics- of programming synthesizers, what are waveshapes, LFO's etc., avoid using default presets, sampled kicks and all that stuff, but I know that my music is still somehow bad. Can anyone give me advices on what and how can I improve? Also, any ideas on how to learn programming kicks? I can only program chiptune-styled simple wave kicks, and trying to do some gabba ones, but nothing interesting comes out of that ;_;
And yeah, I use FL Studio... Should I change it to Ableton Live at this point?

I live in a city with absolutely no electronic music scene at all, let alone a hard electronic music scene. However, I've still managed to get a gig at a few underground shows. This involves playing after other "real bands" play, so by the time you come on the crowd thinks you're just a DJ and sort of trickles out. Then a handful of them realize you're doing something that's actually interesting and really get into it (it especially helps if they're intoxicated.) Even if there's only 30 people left, it's still fun. In fact, I think it's worth playing even for just 5 people. Even if only a handful of people enjoy it, those few people are really happy since it's rare to see that kind of music live. If anything, I'd say the lack of hard electronic music in your country makes it even more important to play live.

I'm trying to write something in Linux Multimedia Studio, but I've come across a problem.
I can't get the loop points to work!
I have two tracks in the Beat+Bassline editor, with a guitar sample. However, the final part goes past bar 3.5 on the timeline, which is where it would automatically loop, so instead it keeps playing for an extra .5 bars which completely ruins the rhythm of the song and makes it sound awkward.
Of course, I tried to use the Loop Point editor, but when I exit the piano roll and try to listen to the sample, it plays the extra .5 anyways, as if I hadn't done anything.
I could shorten it to fit the 3.5 bar mark, but I don't think it sounds as good.
Any ideas, VIPPER?

3 cups flour
1.5 cups sugar
2 t baking soda

1/2 stick butter, room temp

1.5 T rose water
Mix ingredients, divide in half and form into a log shape. Press flat and bake for 20-25 minutes @ 375F, should be just turning golden brown. Let cool, then slice into 1/2 inch pieces and bake a second time until dry. Serve with a strong wine or coffee.
